Characterising As–Bi–Co–Cu-bearing minerals at Scar Crags and Dale Head North, Lake District, UK

چکیده

Abstract Scar Crags and Dale Head North in the English Lake District host mineralised veins enriched ‘Energy Critical Elements’ (ECEs) specifically, bismuth, cobalt copper. A limited number of studies 1970s investigated mineralogy inferred genesis these as being related to intrusion batholith. This study investigates geology, mineralogy, composition paragenesis two areas. The results highlight ubiquitous presence Co–Fe–Ni-sulfarsenides both deposits some mineral species, hitherto unreported. samples contained high concentrations cobalt, commonly present within arsenopyrite, whereas is minor importance at North, where copper arsenic are primary metals. sequence events, with As–Co–Ni-bearing fluids infilling after an initial stage quartz chlorite precipitation most striking resemblance between systems, potentially indicating a common process for Co-rich vein-type area. If so, understanding such processes could prove vital aiding exploration other terranes.

Mineralogical Study of Sediment Samples of Kachua, Chandpur District for Investigation of Arsenic Bearing Minerals

Sixteen sediment samples of different depth (up to 122 m) were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) method. The samples were collected from a test borehole, which was drilled by Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) at Kachua, Chandpur district. All the samples were characterized and different minerals have been identified in the samples. Quartz is the major mineral and was found to be in the...

'UK-DALE': A dataset recording UK Domestic Appliance-Level Electricity demand and whole-house demand

Many countries are rolling out smart electricity meters. These measure a home’s total power demand. However, research into consumer behaviour suggests that consumers are best able to improve their energy efficiency when provided with itemised, appliance-by-appliance consumption information. Energy disaggregation is a computational technique for estimating appliance-by-appliance energy consumpti...

Characterising food environment exposure at home, at work, and along commuting journeys using data on adults in the UK

BACKGROUND Socio-ecological models of behaviour suggest that dietary behaviours are potentially shaped by exposure to the food environment ('foodscape'). Research on associations between the foodscape and diet and health has largely focussed on foodscapes around the home, despite recognition that non-home environments are likely to be important in a more complete assessment of foodscape exposur...
